The Business Advantage
There are clear and distinct reasons your business should use MarketWide.
Performance
If – like many companies – you’re experiencing performance problems with other SQL-based campaign tools, give us a call. Simply put, MarketWide can run complex campaigns against large databases faster than any other segmentation engine. Our unique, one-pass approach to campaign management is a proven winner. To learn more about what makes our product so much faster, read about the MarketWide Difference.
Power
To run marketing campaigns using standard database queries, the other guys have to cheat. They do this by (a) limiting the kinds of questions you can ask by precalculating the answers to your questions; and, (b) generating multiple queries for a single campaign. There are several problems with these methods, namely:
- Pre-aggregating data is time consuming and expensive because it’s very resource intensive. Pre-aggregating data costs you more and takes more of your time to maintain—meanwhile your competitors are delivering their messages faster and cheaper.
- When you use precalulated answers, your marketers are limited to questions for which someone else has precalculated the answer. If you need to ask a question that your installer hasn’t anticipated and pre-answered, you’re out of luck.
- Because running multi-query campaigns is inefficient, you will need to spend more money on hardware to compensate for your lack of speed. Again, this expense puts you at a competitive disadvantage.
In contrast to standard database queries, MarketWide:
- Calculates its own variables using our proprietary segmentation engine.
- Uses a single query for running campaigns. (See the difference using a single query can make.)
The payback to you is two-fold: (a) you can save hundreds of thousands of dollars on hardware because MarketWide can run the same campaign on a much cheaper computer; and , (b) your marketers can change their questions without a database rebuild.
Price
One advantage to working with smaller companies like DSI is price. Because DSI is self-funded and profitable, we don’t have the overhead of our larger competitors. Nor do we have to answer to investors clamoring for a quick return on investment. Moreover, DSI makes sure that every component needed by our system is royalty-free, further allowing us to hold down costs.
Flexibility
MarketWide is an open-architectured product, meaning that it works with all leading databases. Because of its unique “soft-coded” design, implementation time is measured in hours and days, not months or years.
MarketWide sits directly on top of your marketing database, rather than making a separate copy of your data. The bad news is that there are only two benefits to this. The good news is that they’re pretty important benefits: time and money. MarketWide is faster to implement and cheaper to maintain. Need a database, too? No problem, we can help you with the individual design and implementation you need.
MarketWide's Technical Advantages
MarketWide is the only campaign management product that combines the speed and power of proprietary, closed-architecture products with the flexibility of open-architectured products. MarketWide is able to be fast, powerful, and flexible because it sits on top of all major ODBC-compliant relational database, yet doesn’t use standard SQL to run marketing campaigns.
MarketWide’s unique segmentation engine intercepts data as it comes out of the database, quickly performing aggregation and unduplication that would normally take many hours.
MarketWide is technically superior because it:
- Generates a single, simple query per campaign, causing much less work for the server. This vastly lowers hardware costs. Read more about the difference of single query campaigns.
- Does not require pre-aggregated data, which is a huge time and cost saver.
- Runs directly against your existing marketing database, allowing you to be installed and in production in less than a week.
- Does not generate “tag tables”, a significant problem with other conventional SQL-based systems.
- Uses single pass processing, which is fast and efficient and allows segments to be automatically unduplicated.
- Thin client architecture – combines the friendliness of Windows with the small footprint advantage of the Internet.
- Minimal network traffic – all number crunching and data transfer is performed on the host machine.
